NutriK was recently featured in The Nation Newspaper following a visit by a Team Europe delegation led by the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Gautier Mignot, to our production facility in the Kano Free Trade Zone. The visit formed part of a broader mission to assess initiatives advancing nutrition, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, and economic development across northern Nigeria.
During the visit, the delegation toured our facility and engaged with stakeholders on ongoing efforts to address severe acute malnutrition among children in Nigeria. The European Union delegation recognized the critical role of locally produced Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) in improving child health outcomes while also supporting economic growth through investment, innovation, and job creation.
The article also highlighted NutriK’s continued investment in strengthening Nigeria’s nutrition ecosystem through increased local sourcing, enhanced processing capacity, and the development of more resilient supply chains. As part of our long-term commitment to sustainability and local value creation, we work closely with Nigerian farmers, producers, and partners to expand access to high-quality therapeutic nutrition products and contribute to lasting positive impact in the communities we serve.
Commenting on NutriK’s ongoing efforts to strengthen access to life-saving nutrition products in Nigeria, our Managing Director, Abdoulkader YONLI, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding local production of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF). He highlighted NutriK’s continued investments in manufacturing capacity and local sourcing initiatives aimed at strengthening the national nutrition supply chain. According to him, increasing the use of locally sourced agricultural inputs will not only enhance production efficiency but also create opportunities for farmers, processors, and other actors across the value chain, contributing to improved child nutrition outcomes and sustainable economic development.
This recognition underscores the importance of collaboration between governments, development partners, humanitarian organizations, and the private sector in addressing one of Nigeria’s most pressing public health challenges. NutriK remains committed to delivering innovative, locally driven solutions that improve access to therapeutic nutrition, strengthen local value chains, and help ensure that more children have the opportunity to survive, grow, and thrive.
